During this tour throughout the country -from the region of the coffee to the Caribbean- It was held a first BUILDING WORKSHOP ON CLIMATE CHANGE TOOLS en las sedes de las alcaldías o área metropolitana de las ciudades visitadas.

These workshops supposed the first step in the implementation of the pilot project, which will focus on the development of tools for decision-making on climate change at the local level, según el acuerdo de cooperación técnica internacional suscrito entre ONU-HABITAT y el MADS.

Among them it was held a presentation of Cities and Climate Change Program by the MADS and counted with the participation of Marcus Mayr, international expert on Climate Change UN-HABITAT who visited us from headquarters in Nairobi. Asimismo, the specialist consultant team that is implementing the project conducted a training Indicators of Climate Change, inventories Greenhouse gases e Financial instruments, y lideró en cada ciudad una mesa de trabajo sobre cada una de estas temáticas.

It was very interesting and very productive for our team to be able to interact directly with those attending the workshops to hundred -superiores- as well as mayors and directors of planning of four cities, which were very participatory at all times, enriqueciendo el diálogo y acercándonos a la realidad de su ciudad en materia de cambio climático.

Esperamos volver a visitar próximamente las ciudades piloto para realizar una validación de las herramientas que se están construyendo sobre la base de la información adquirida a lo largo de estas jornadas.
